Villageville is the first location that the player will discover. The player starts off in Gomez's House and then exits the house to get to the village. Gomez has received a letter telling him to go to the top of the village. Once the player has done that, Gomez will have a conversation with Geezer, the person who sent them the letter, and will then go through a cutscene that introduces the mechanic of rotating, as well as showing the Hexahedron break. The player can then move around through the village and look for Golden Cube pieces known as Bits. Only one cube is needed to access the Outer Village Tower.

Appearance[]

Villageville is a stone-columned island with multiple rooms connected to its main structure. There is a water tank on its side, and a mail pipes that runs vertically on the island. At the bottom of the island, there is a Cube Door connecting to the outside world.

Around the main island are six smaller islands. One is comprised of one block connected by a string hanged with cloth. The second one isn't physically connected to the island, and holds a Treasure Chest. The other two are connected linearly by two log bridges, with one holding Geezer's House. The last two islands are made entirely of stone, and serve as pathway to the top of the island. Even though there are six smaller islands, only four can be seen at a time through a 2-dimensional perspective.

Local Areas[]

Gomez's House[]

Gomez's House is located at the base of Villageville, and where the player initially starts the game. It features a drum set shown in the 32-Cube Ending, and only its front wall is decorated, likely due to Gomez being unaware of the 3rd dimension.

Geezer's House[]

Geezer's House is located across the log bridge in the outside. It is where Geezer can be found after you acquire the Fez in the introduction cutscene (or sunglasses/3D glasses in New Game Plus). This room is notable for giving the locations of all 4 owls on the room's pictures, depicted by the Orrery, the Tree Cabin, and the Windmill, and a Tetromino Pillar at the Crying Waterfall.

Mayor McMayor's House[]

Mayor McMayor's House is located on the level above Gomez's House and right below the Village's Boiler Room. Inside is a portrait of Mayor McMayor, Oldy, Izaac, Xavier, and Zoe, a picture of some Zu Folks wearing fezzes, and a picture of the Cemetery Owl Statue.

The Boiler Room is located right above Mayor McMayor's House, and can be accessed after using a key on its locked door. It features pictures of various tetrominoes, the Skull Artifact, a side of the Hexahedron, and the icon on the doors of the Door Puzzle Room, on its walls.

The village's kitchen is located near the top of the village.

Village Classroom View 1

Village Classroom[]

The Village Classroom is located under the kitchen and is where the teacher Blonde is always present. The front board features a graph of a square, which becomes a cube after Gomez recieves his fez. The side board features an evolution drawing depicting the previous versions of the Zu people.

Vacant Rooms[]

There are 3 additional empty rooms in the village. One is completely empty, another features a chair and a stack of books, and the third features a desk and portraits of Zu people on its walls.

Collectibles[]

Bit Locations[]

There are 8 Bits that can be found here, as they are required to open the 1-Cube Door at the bottom of the village.

  • One can be found in the Kitchen, Village Classroom, the Vacant Potrait Room, and the Vacant Chair Room.
  • The rest are found around the outside of the village; 1 where the children are playing, 2 on the stone walls, and 1 at the top of the village.

Anti-Cube Locations[]

  • In the boiler room, by interpreting the tetrominoes on the walls as button presses and the symbols next to them as numbers, it is possible to get an Anti-Cube. Since the last part of the code is always hidden behind a boiler in the room, this puzzle requires the player to be in the New Game Plus mode and be in first-person view to solve.
  • In Mayor McMayor's House, an Anti-Cube can be found by rotating left and right based on which side each person in the Zu picture is wearing their fez (RT RT LT RT LT LT LT RT).

Key Locations[]

  • Entering Mayor McMayor's House and going under the fireplace will take the player to a hidden room that contains a Treasure Chest with a key.
  • Another chest with a key is obtainable on an outside island by Villageville, connected by a string hanged with cloth.

Treasure Maps[]

  • A Treasure Map can be found when entering the Boiler Room for the first time.
